Welcome to my blog. Reading and writing are essential to the Christian’s life of the mind. After all, as my former professor (Kevin Bauder) used to say, “writing is thinking.” So my meager goal is to cultivate the habit of writing.
So much of what we think about in life is simply not developed or reflective. We give an issue almost no thought, make some assumptions, and move on to the next amusing thing (a la Neil Postman). My other former theology professor (Myron Houghton) used to have this quote on his office door:
A moment of thought would have shown him he was wrong. But a moment is a long time, and a thought is a hard thing.
I hope these posts becomes “moments” of thought, but only if they are thoughts worth thinking.And by the way, I inherited Dr. Myron’s sign! It now lives in my office. Stop by sometime and I’ll show you. But in the mean time, keep thinking on Truth. After all, that’s just what Colossians 3 exhorts the believer to do.
Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is. Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on the earth.
